CSEC/Adult First Crisis Response

BAWAR is Alameda County’s First Crisis Responder for all cases of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC), minors who are identified as being at risk, and adult victims of sexual exploitation. First Crisis Responders are the first non-system person a survivor meets upon their path to recovery. The First Crisis Responder’s primary purpose is to assist in stabilization and ensure the safety of the victim. Within 24 hours of receiving a referral, BAWAR makes contact with the client to provide crisis stabilization, advocacy, and support services. These referrals come from a number of different sources including, but not limited to:

  • Social Services
  • Probation
  • Judicial System (Court)
  • Law Enforcement
  • District Attorney’s Office
  • Public Defender’s Office
  • Service Providers
  • Juvenile Justice Center Mental Health Department
  • Community
  • Family Members
  • Self Referrals
